Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PLC Programmer role based in Chennai. The PLC Programmer will design, develop, and test PLC programs for industrial automation and control systems, ensuring reliable operation and adherence to project specifications. Day-to-day work includes configuring hardware, integrating PLCs with sensors and actuators, troubleshooting system issues, and optimizing logic for performance and safety. The role involves collaborating with engineering and software teams, preparing technical documentation, and supporting commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades at client sites. The PLC Programmer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and may assist in integrating PLC systems with data acquisition, SCADA, or higher-level applications.
Qualifications
- Strong PLC programming skills (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text) and experience with major PLC platforms and industrial communication protocols.
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial automation, including control systems, field devices (sensors, actuators), HMI/SCADA integration, and safety standards.
- Solid understanding of electrical and instrumentation fundamentals, control panel wiring, schematics, and basic troubleshooting of hardware issues.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design control logic, perform testing and debugging, and prepare clear technical documentation and reports.
- Familiarity with data acquisition, test and measurement systems, and integration with software tools (e.g., LabVIEW or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work safely and systematically in industrial environments.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to project needs, and occasionally support on-site commissioning or field activities as required.
