Role Description The PLC Programmer is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Pune Division, with a combination of on-site work and some work in office. The role involves designing, programming, and testing PLC-based control systems for industrial automation projects across automotive, food & beverage, pharma, and process industries. Day-to-day tasks include developing logic diagrams, configuring communication networks, integrating PLCs with HMIs and SCADA systems, and troubleshooting control panels and field devices. The PLC Programmer collaborates closely with project engineers, electricians, and mechanical teams to ensure accurate implementation of control strategies and compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities also include preparing documentation, supporting commissioning and startup activities at customer sites, and providing ongoing technical support for system enhancements and fault resolution.
Qualifications
- Strong PLC programming skills (e.g., ladder logic, function blocks, structured text) and hands-on experience with major PLC platforms (such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider).
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems, including HMI/SCADA configuration, communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP), and integration with sensors and actuators.
- Experience in control panel design, wiring diagrams, and basic electrical troubleshooting, with an understanding of industrial safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings, and translate project requirements into control logic and system architecture.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a systematic approach to testing and debugging automation systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional project teams and interact professionally with customers.
- Willingness to work on-site at the workshop or customer locations as required, and to travel occasionally for commissioning and service support.
