Position Title: PLC Programmer – Industrial Robotics & Automation

Role Overview
Our client is looking for a technically strong and execution-driven PLC Programmer to work on robotic automation projects and customized machine-building solutions. This role involves hands-on development of PLC-based control systems, motion control programming, IPC-based automation, and on-site commissioning of industrial robotic cells. If you enjoy building machines from concept to commissioning, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PLC & Control System Development
· Develop, test, and implement PLC programs for robotic and industrial automation systems.
· Program motion control systems including servo drives and coordinated axis control.
· Configure and program IPC-based control platforms (Beckhoff / B&R / Advantech or similar).
· Develop structured logic using TwinCAT or equivalent IEC 61131-3 environments. (Preferred)
2. C/C++ Based Customization
· Write, modify, and debug C/C++ code for customized control logic and system-level integration.
· Develop communication interfaces between PLC, robots, and external devices.
3. Integration & Commissioning
· Integrate servo drives, sensors, actuators, safety systems, and HMI panels.
· Perform machine-level testing, debugging, and validation.
· Support on-site installation and commissioning at customer locations.
· Diagnose and resolve real-time automation and motion-related issues.
4. Documentation & System Validation
· Prepare and maintain program documentation and I/O mapping.
· Support electrical team with control logic validation.
· Ensure system reliability, safety compliance, and performance optimization.
Skills & Competencies:
· 2–5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and machine automation.
· Strong knowledge or Experience of industrial automation architecture in:
o Beckhoff TwinCAT (Preferred)
o Siemens TIA portal
o Mitsubishi PLC
o Motion control & servo integration
o B&R / Advantech / Other IPC platforms
o Robot: KUKA, ABB, FANUC will be additional advantage
· Good programming knowledge in C/C++. (Preferred)
· Understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, Profinet, etc.) is an advantage.
· Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics.
· E-Plan drawing/reading knowledge is an added advantage.
· Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Willingness to travel for commissioning activities.
