Role Description The PLC Engineer – Services is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for supporting industrial automation and IIoT solutions at customer locations. This role involves configuring, programming, and commissioning PLCs and related control systems, as well as integrating them with edge, cloud, and industrial connectivity platforms. The PLC Engineer will perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and field service activities, including maintenance, repair, and calibration of automation equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing remote technical support to customers, documenting service activities, collaborating with project and R&D teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards from office desk. The role also includes training customer personnel on system operation and contributing to continuous improvement of remote service processes and solution reliability.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose, resolve, and document issues in PLC and industrial automation systems.
- Candidates should possess Field Service, Maintenance & Repair skills to perform on-site commissioning and Remote support services, preventive maintenance, and corrective interventions for industrial equipment.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with customers, collaborate with internal teams, and produce clear technical reports and documentation.
- Candidates should ideally have experience with PLC programming (e.g., ladder logic, function block), SCADA/HMI systems, and industrial communication protocols like OPC-UA, Modbus TCP-IP etc.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field is preferred.
- Experience in industrial automation, IIoT, or manufacturing environments, and familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements, will be beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site at customer facilities, manage multiple remote service assignments, and adapt to dynamic industrial environments is important
