SUMMARY:
The Instructional Aide is responsible for providing instructional assistance to teachers in a classroom setting as well as monitoring and providing support to students during non-academic times (e.g. arrival/dismissal times, breaks, lunch).

· Nine-month, full-time, non-exempt position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist teachers with implementation and instruction of curriculum under the teacher’s direct or indirect supervision, including academic programs for students.
- Coordinate with and assist teachers in the making and gathering of materials and resources for instruction (i.e. making copies, getting supplies and books ready, etc.).
- Assist teachers with observing, monitoring, and recording students’ progress.
- Provide classroom instruction to students as a substitute teacher in the absence of a teacher as needed.
- Be knowledgeable of Arizona State Standards and insure these are maintained.
- Provides input on the selection of instructional materials and resources.
- Supervise students during required duty times, including non-academic times (e.g. breaks, lunch, detention, etc.), and assure their safety in the school.
- In conjunction with Administration and teachers, monitor recess, arrival, and dismissal times.
- Enforce rules and provide appropriate response to student misconduct in a safe and respectful manner.
- May be responsible for lunch set up and dispersal including assisting with cleanup of lunchroom in between lunch sessions and after lunch.
- Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings as communicated by Administration throughout the year.
- Be knowledgeable of and implement PLC Charter Schools’ policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Principal.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to implement small group, large group, and individual instruction.
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or completion of 60 college credit hours, or passing of an Arizona State approved paraprofessional test.
- Two years of previous relevant experience, strongly preferred.
