Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chennai for a PLC Automation Engineer. The PLC Automation Engineer will design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems for specialized machinery and fire testing equipment. Daily responsibilities include integrating sensors and actuators, configuring process control parameters, and ensuring reliable automation performance. The role involves diagnosing and resolving control system issues, performing electrical and control panel checks, and optimizing system logic for safety and efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and R&D teams, prepare technical documentation, and support installation, training, and maintenance activities at customer sites.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Process Control skills for diagnosing faults and optimizing system performance.
- Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering and Automation skills for designing, programming, and maintaining PLC-based control systems.
- Candidates should possess Robotics and related automation skills for integrating motion control and advanced machine operations.
- Relevant experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP) is beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering field is preferred, along with familiarity with industrial safety standards and documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities, with readiness to work on-site in Chennai and travel to project locations as needed.
