We are looking for a Platform Release Manager with a strong blend of Release Management and DevOps experience. This role requires hands-on ownership of release versioning, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines, with working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). The ideal candidate will ensure reliable, repeatable, and traceable releases across environments while collaborating closely with Engineering, QA, and Platform teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end release management for multiple applications and customers
- Define and enforce branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based, release branches)
- Manage release versioning using Git tags and release branches
- Drive CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation
- Ensure traceability between source code, builds, artifacts, and deployments
- Coordinate multi-environment deployments (QA, UAT, Production)
- Plan and execute rollbacks, hotfixes, and emergency releases
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on infrastructure readiness and deployment stability
- Review and validate Terraform-based infrastructure changes impacting releases
- Maintain release documentation, calendars, and audit records
- Act as the primary point of contact during release windows and production deployments
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years of experience in Release Management with strong DevOps exposure
- Hands-on experience with Git branching strategies and release tagging
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure.)
- Experience managing releases across multiple environments and customers
- Solid understanding of build artifacts, versioning, and artifact repositories
- Working knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Strong understanding of SDLC, deployment strategies, and rollback mechanisms
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder communication skills
Good to Have
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based deployments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, Groovy)
What This Role Is Not
- This is not a pure DevOps or SRE role
- Terraform ownership lies with DevOps teams; this role requires review and release alignment
- Focus is on release ownership and CI/CD governance, not infrastructure design
