Platform Partner, StudioK
Bangalore | Full-time | Periodic US travel
About StudioK
StudioK is a founder residency in Bangalore for pre-seed and seed teams building ambitious companies. We give founders space, capital, and a community of people who've built and backed companies before. We're backed by Right Side Capital Management and work closely with MARL 5G Accelerator, which gives our founders a direct line into the US-India commercial corridor.
Most residencies stop being useful the day the program ends. We want to be the opposite. That's what this role is for.
The role
You'll make sure StudioK founders raise well, raise faster, and keep raising after they leave the residency. You'll coach founders through fundraising, bring and grow StudioK's investor network, and connect our companies with the people and resources they need to grow.
You won't pitch for our founders. You'll make them impossible to ignore when they pitch themselves.
What you'll do
- Fundraising readiness. Work hands-on with every portfolio company on narrative, deck, financial model, and data room. Run mock pitches that feel like the real thing. Help founders build the right investor list for their stage and sector, and coach them from first meeting through term sheet and close. Make warm intros only when a company is genuinely ready.
- Investor network. Bring your existing pre-seed and seed relationships into StudioK from day one, and grow them into an institutional network across Indian and US funds, angels, and family offices.
- Maintain our investor CRM, run demo day, send quarterly portfolio updates, and host investor dinners in Bangalore and the US.
- Founder support. Connect founders with customers, advisors, early hires, and our bench of legal, tax, and cross-border experts. Help maintain the StudioK × MARL founder document library.
- Cross-portfolio work. Spend a defined share of your time supporting select MARL portfolio companies with India or US fundraising.
What success looks like
In your first 30 days, you've made qualified intros from your own network for current portfolio companies that are ready to raise. In your first 90 days, you've met every founder, brought your investor relationships into StudioK's CRM alongside new ones, and rolled out a fundraising readiness process every company goes through. By month 12, a meaningful share of each cohort is raising follow-on rounds, investors actively want a seat at demo day, and founders name fundraising support as a reason they'd recommend StudioK.
What you bring
- You've been close to at least 15 pre-seed and seed rounds, as an investor, a founder, or both. You can explain why a specific round took four months instead of six weeks and what would have changed the outcome.
- Most likely you've spent 3 to 7 years at an Indian seed or early-stage fund as an associate or principal. Or you've founded a company and raised institutional capital yourself. Either path works if you've done the work up close.
- You bring a deep, active network of pre-seed and seed investors in India from day one. Funds, angels, and syndicates who write first cheques, know you personally, and take meetings on your recommendation.
- You also bring genuine relationships with US pre-seed and seed investors. It doesn't need to be as deep as your India network, but it needs to be real: people who'll reply and take a call because it's you.
- You've coached founders, not just evaluated them. You've rebuilt a narrative, reworked a model, or sat with a founder the night before a partner meeting.
- You can give a first-time founder hard feedback without flattening them. And you care more about founders winning than about being in the room when they do.
Strong pluses
Familiarity with deep tech, mobility, robotics, logistics, or AI. Experience on cross-border rounds. Experience running a cohort program, demo day, or recurring investor events.
This role is not for you if
You want to place rounds or be paid on capital raised. This is a platform role, not a broking role. It's also not a stepping stone you plan to leave in a year. We're looking for someone who wants to build this from the ground up.
Why StudioK
You'll work directly with Amir Khan, Co-founder of StudioK and Managing General Partner at MARL, with 100+ investments across the US and India. You'll get a front-row seat to the US-India corridor, real ownership of a function from zero, and a share of the fund's carry so you participate in the outcomes of the companies you help build.
Compensation
Competitive base salary plus carry participation in the StudioK fund.
How to apply
- Send a short note about one fundraise you helped make happen, what went wrong along the way, and what you'd do differently.
- Tell us, in a few lines, about the pre-seed investors in India and the US you work with most closely, by type of investor, cheque size, and sector, without naming names. Include your CV or LinkedIn. Shortlisted candidates will do a working session reviewing a real (anonymized) portfolio deck with us.
