1. Power Distribution & Motors
- Troubleshoot and maintain AC/DC motors and their associated Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), which control the speed of conveyors, grinders, and centrifuges.
- Maintain and repair Low Voltage (LV) distribution boards, switchgear, and control panels.
- Perform thermal imaging on electrical panels to identify loose connections or overheating components before they fail.
2. Automation & Sorting Systems
- Maintain NIR (Near-Infrared) Sorters and Colour Sorters: Clean lenses, calibrate sensors, and troubleshoot the high-speed pneumatic ejector valves.
- Calibrate and repair field instruments: Level sensors(ultrasonic/capacitive), flow meters, pressure transmitters, and temperature probes ($PT100$) in the hot-wash tanks.
- Troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)I/O modules—specifically identifying faulty inputs/outputs to keep the automated sequence running.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all Emergency Stop (E-Stop) circuits and safety interlocks (on grinders and centrifuges) are fully functional and tested regularly.
- Enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures for the entire maintenance team during repairs.
- Maintain the plant’s lighting, grounding (earthing), and lightning protection systems.
4. Preventive Maintenance (Electrical)
- Regularly clean electrical cabinets to prevent dust build-up (especially “ PET fines ” which can be conductive or flammable).
- Check the integrity of cables and conduits, especially in the “ Wet Areas “ of the plant where moisture and Caustic chemicals can degrade insulation.
Technical Skills:
- Schematics: Ability to read complex electrical drawings,P & IDs, and logic flowcharts.
- Troubleshooting: Expert use of Multimeters, Insulation Testers(Megger), and Clamp Meters
- PLC Knowledge: Familiarity with Siemens (TIA Portal),Rockwell (Studio 5000), or Schneider systems.
- Instrumentation: Knowledge of loop testing (4-20mA signals)and sensor calibration.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Instrumentation.
- Experience: 3+ years as an industrial electrician.Experience in continuous process plants (like bottling, chemical, or paper mills) is a major plus.
- Must be comfortable working around water and chemicals (the washing line is
