Job Responsibilities :
Job Purpose:
Plant trainer & assessor (operations) will support fulfilling GMS strategic goal of developing and sustaining a competent & trained work force.
The role is responsible to drive competence assurance and training of S&OR critical operations job roles in his/her assigned plant. He/she will report to the plant manager.
Key objectives of the role are:
- Competence development : manage delivery of tailored learning interventions to bridge competence gaps
- Competence assurance : ensure one-time competence assurance of all S&OR critical operation roles during project phase and sustenance thereafter
- Content development: program manage - to keep content current (plant specific content, quizzes and task test) & assure quality with help from Learning & Development CoE.
Job Accountabilities Details
As Plant Trainer
- Impart plant specific technical/functional and HSE training, to new or experienced personnel as per required competencies of job positions (Tier 1 & 2)-particularly asset facing positions including on the job training
- Single contact person in providing hand holding to new joiner and also persons taking charge in new areas/coming from other plants.
- Finalize the training needs of candidates using the CAS Process and during annual discussion with Plant Manager & L1.
- Provide relevant training and support to fill the gaps as identified in the CAS Process.
- Liaison with Learning Centre as deemed required for Learning Content requirements, Generic Training calendar, adding special competencies etc. to enhance performance.
- In consultation with plant HOD, plan training sessions and various tiers of validation to ensure its timely completion.
As Plant Assessor
- Plan & execute assessment of selected S&OR critical roles in the respective plant as per ICP.
- Conduct task assessment as per requirement by observation, collecting and reviewing evidences as per agreed plan.
- Ensure that each new joiner and regular employee undergo prescribed assessment process as per CAS Process #either for first time competency certification or re-certification.
- Provide assessment feedback to employees and L1. Make recommendation whether an employee is competent or not competent and suggest learning interventions, if required.
- Ensure that all assessment document and learning content pertaining to own plant is updated. Maintain CAS related MIS and monthly report for the plant and flange it with H/executives.
- Provide advice for verifying SOP#s/training contents for its suitability and relevance and help plant personnel to maintain library.
- Provide advice for Job Cycle Checks, ReSOP, PSSR etc. as advised by Plant HOD
- Provide professional advice and technical expertise for any trouble shooting at plant.
- Support CoE- CAS Quality Assurance in conducting audit for other plants at own and other sites.
- Ensure the quality of assessment and evidences collected are fair and relevant
- Ensure to complete all competencies over a period of time in line with JCP requirements
- Create environment of continuous learning and updating skills for company#s growth
Education Requirement :
Bachelor Of Engineering - Minimum 10 Years Of Experience
Diploma Engineering / BSc. - Minimum 15 years of Experience
Experience Requirement :
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Plant Operations
- Minimum 15 years of Experience in Plant operations
- Experience in Learning & Development function
- Certified Assessor by RIL Trainer who is Shell certified.
Skills & Competencies :
- Conversant with Competency Assurance System to train and assess the employee
- Proficient in knowledge and skill level to impart training to new joiners, current employees in Operations discipline asset facing roles on all facets of Operations to make them competent to take independent charge for safe & reliable performance on consistent basis.
- Knowledge & skill to operate Panel in Control Room, conversant with potential upsets/trouble shooting /emergency handlings including field monitoring activities
- Competent to impart training on Process Simulator and hold effective validation.
- Knowledge of operational tasks and able to train and guide new joiners in plant.
- Proficient at knowledge and skill level in technology based Operations/Reliability systems like OMPro/ IOW /or equivalent.
- Proficient at knowledge and skill of HSE Management system such as PSM, workplace safety, emergency response etc.
- Must have a flair for developing people by coaching and mentoring them and sharing knowledge
- Should have detail orientation skill for writing/improving SOP#s/ developing learning contents,
