Role Description The Plant Quality Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the plant’s quality systems and performance. This role includes managing quality assurance and control processes for rubber and rubber-to-metal bonded parts, ensuring compliance with customer and automotive industry standards, and leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformities. The Plant Quality Manager will define and monitor quality KPIs, supervise inspection activities, coordinate internal and external audits, and support new product development with robust quality planning and PPAP documentation. The role also involves collaborating closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams, managing customer quality communications, and driving employee training and engagement in quality and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in quality management systems and tools (e.g., IATF 16949 / ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and a proven ability to implement and maintain them in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with plant-level quality control processes, including incoming, in-process, and final inspection, measurement systems, and data-driven problem solving using root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Background in automotive components or rubber/rubber-to-metal bonded parts manufacturing, with experience working with OEM customer requirements, documentation, and audits.
- Capability to lead cross-functional teams, manage quality staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, production, industrial, or related field); advanced quality certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, auditor qualifications) are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, proficiency with relevant quality and ERP software, and the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
