Manufacturing Head - Production
Industry: Heavy Fabrication / Engineering Manufacturing
Experience: Minimum 15 years (with strong hands-on exposure)
Core Expertise: Laser Cutting, Bending, Welding, Heavy Fabrication
Location: Chennai
Key Responsibilities
Overall Production Leadership
Lead and manage end-to-end manufacturing operations including laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, fabrication, assembly, and finishing to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets.
Process Planning & Optimization
Develop, standardize, and continuously improve fabrication processes to enhance productivity, reduce cycle time, improve yield, and minimize rework.
Heavy Fabrication Expertise
Oversee complex heavy fabrication projects involving large structures, thick plates, and precision assemblies, ensuring adherence to drawings and technical specifications.
Technology & Equipment Management
Manage advanced manufacturing technologies such as laser cutting machines, press brakes, robotic/manual welding setups, and material handling systems; plan upgrades and capacity expansion.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), inspection plans, customer specifications, and relevant industry codes.
Manpower Planning & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop production teams including engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor workforce; ensure skill development and performance management.
Production Planning & Control (PPC)
Coordinate with planning, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure on-time production, optimal resource utilization, and smooth workflow across departments.
Cost Control & Budget Management
Monitor and control manufacturing costs including material, labor, consumables, and machine utilization; drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
Safety & Compliance Leadership
Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across the shop floor; promote a strong safety culture and ensure statutory compliance.
Cross-Functional & Customer Coordination
Work closely with design, sales, procurement, and customers to resolve technical issues, support new product development, and ensure customer satisfaction.
