Plant Manager – Flexible Packaging

About the Role
RKN Flexibles is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Plant Manager to lead and manage overall factory operations at our flexible packaging manufacturing unit in Ambattur, Chennai.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership capability, excellent communication skills, and solid hands-on experience in flexible packaging manufacturing processes. The role requires complete ownership of production, manpower handling, operational efficiency, quality control, and coordination across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complete plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, dispatch, and stores.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum machine utilization.
- Monitor wastage control, productivity improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Handle manpower planning, workforce discipline, and shift management.
- Coordinate with sales, planning, purchase, and dispatch teams for smooth execution of orders.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety procedures.
- Minimize downtime through effective production monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Lead and motivate supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Prepare daily/monthly production and efficiency reports for management review.
- Implement process improvement and cost-control initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Printing
- Lamination
- Slitting
- Pouch making
- Production planning
- Excellent communication and team-handling skills.
- Mandatory language requirement: Tamil, Hindi, and English fluency.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Ability to manage factory operations and workforce effectively under pressure.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in independently handling flexible packaging plant operations.
- Exposure to productivity improvement and wastage reduction initiatives.
- Strong coordination skills between management and shop-floor teams.
- Candidates from flexible packaging, laminates, converting, or pouch manufacturing industries preferred.
