Key Responsibilities of Head-Plant Maintenence
- Lead overall plant maintenance operations including preventive, predictive, breakdown, and reliability-centered maintenance activities.
- Ensure high availability and operational reliability of CNC machines, machining centers, assembly lines, testing systems, utility equipment, and plant infrastructure.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with operational, safety, quality, and business objectives.
- Drive maintenance planning, shutdown scheduling, machine health monitoring, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Lead TPM, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Analyze equipment failures, downtime trends, MTBF, MTTR, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure effective maintenance of utilities including compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, DG sets, transformers, power distribution systems, EOT cranes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), machine utilization, and maintenance KPIs.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and EHS teams for smooth plant operations.
- Develop spare parts management strategy including critical spares identification, inventory optimization, and vendor management.
- Lead capital maintenance projects, machine installations, commissioning, relocations, and modernization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, electrical safety standards, environmental norms, and plant safety regulations.
- Manage AMC contracts, external maintenance agencies, OEM coordination, and service providers.
- Drive energy conservation, utility optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Implement CMMS / ERP-based maintenance management systems and digital maintenance practices.
- Support audits, customer visits, compliance inspections, and certification requirements.
- Develop maintenance team capability through technical training, skill development, and succession planning.
- Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets, maintenance expenditure, and resource utilization.
- Ensure adherence to 5S, safety practices, permit systems, and operational discipline within maintenance activities.
