Role Description The Plant Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Kharagpur, responsible for overseeing end-to-end plant operations for sheet metal fabrication. This role includes planning and directing daily production activities, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and meeting delivery and quality targets. The Plant Head will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to maintain smooth operations and continuous improvement. The position also involves monitoring budgets, controlling costs, enforcing safety standards, and implementing process enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity. The Plant Head will lead and mentor plant staff, foster a culture of accountability and safety, and report performance metrics and operational issues to senior management.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Plant Operations and Production Management to oversee daily manufacturing activities and ensure operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in Production Planning to manage schedules, capacity, and resources for timely delivery of components.
- Solid understanding of Quality Control to maintain product standards, reduce defects, and comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Experience in Budgeting to manage operating costs, monitor financial performance, and optimize resource allocation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in a leadership role within manufacturing, preferably in sheet metal fabrication or heavy equipment/automotive components.
- Strong people management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
