Key Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of the entire production function and ensure smooth execution of manufacturing activities.
- Supervise and manage day-to-day shop floor operations, including VMC machining, assembly and dispatch activities.
- Manage and coordinate VMC machine operators and programmers to achieve production targets.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.
- Coordinate with Quality, Stores, Procurement, and Logistics teams for uninterrupted production flow.
- Possess working knowledge of welding processes.
- Have sound knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Review engineering drawings and ensure adherence to specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
- Prepare commercial proposals, cost estimates, and customer quotations.
- Coordinate with vendors and customers regarding technical and commercial requirements.
- Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all production equipment.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and client visits.
Requirements
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, machine shop operations, or precision engineering industries.
- Should be able to handle a team size of 40+ people.
- Hands-on experience in managing complete production operations.
- Strong knowledge of VMC machining processes, tooling, and production planning.
- Good understanding of welding and sheet metal processes.
- Experience in preparing commercials, costing, and customer quotations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting.
