Job Purpose:
The person will be responsible for overall plant operations, including production, supply chain management, maintenance, quality and workforce management. The role requires driving a performance culture through operational efficiency, productivity, and compliance with IATF, EHS ISO standards. On HR front, person will be responsible for retention time, Ramp up time, recruitment of the people of both staff & workers. He will also have authority to formulate suitable HR policies on pay & promotion, employee benefits.
Location: Chhatral, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Experience: Total - 15–20 Years
· 2-3 years experiences as plant head / general manager (operations/manufacturing) in a company with 100cr - 200cr turnover
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production / industrial engineering
· MBA in Operations
Compensation: ₹2,00,000 per month and above as per the experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· To ensure productivity and profitability of the plant are achieved through systematic data-based reviews and audits.
· Lead and manage overall plant operations including production, planning, quality, maintenance, and dispatch.
· Ensure achievement of production targets, productivity improvement, and cost optimization.
· Monitor daily production performance and ensure adherence to production schedules.
· Implement and strengthen Production Planning & Control (PPC) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems.
· Ensure Coordination between procurement, stores, and dispatch teams for smooth material flow.
· Drive methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process improvements, and operational discipline.
· Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, waste reduction, and cost optimization.
· Ensure adherence to ISO standards and quality management systems.
· Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and statutory requirements (QEHS & IATF).
· Ensure proper preventive and breakdown maintenance systems to minimize downtime.
· Build a performance-driven culture across departments.
· Develop team capability through training, mentoring, and clear performance expectations.
· Implement and ensure compliance with HR policies and organizational systems.
· Provide regular reports to management on production performance, operational efficiency, costs, and improvement initiatives.
· Drive accountability across departments through defined KPIs
· Accountable for retention time / Ramp up time, recruitment of the people of both staff/ workers
Key Skills & Competencies:
· Proven experience in Manufacturing Operations & excellence, Maintenance, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, PMS, Training need identification etc.
· Hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Operational Excellence frameworks, ISO standards, quality management systems, QEHS & IATF Standard , balanced scorecard.
· Proactive approach towards problem solving, continuous improvement,
and decision making.
· Target setting and Conducting effective reviews
· Excellent Interpersonal and presentation skills.
· The age of the candidate should be between 40 to 50 years.
· Experience in heavy engineering manufacturing, steel, tube, or pipe industry preferred
· Possesses highest level of integrity / honesty.
