About the Company
Umendra Life Sciences is a cGMP-compliant pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturer based in Bavla, Ahmedabad, specialising in topical and dermatological formulations — creams, ointments, gels, and lotions. The company exports to regulated markets including the United States, which means our documentation, compliance, and financial records are held to a high standard. We are growing, and we need our accounts function to grow with us.
About the Role
This is a plant-level accounting role, not a corporate desk job. You will sit at the intersection of manufacturing operations and finance — working daily with purchase, stores, and production teams to ensure every transaction from raw material procurement to finished goods dispatch is accurately recorded, reconciled, and compliant.
If you've worked in a pharma, API, FMCG, or chemical manufacturing unit and understand how the shop floor connects to the books, this role will feel familiar from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
Manufacturing & Operations Accounting
- Record and reconcile purchase entries linked to GRNs for raw materials, packing materials, and consumables
- Coordinate with stores and purchase teams on invoice discrepancies, short supplies, and rate differences
- Track material-linked costs and support monthly batch-level expense reporting
- Maintain vendor ledgers for API suppliers, excipient vendors, and packaging material suppliers
GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B; manage input tax credit reconciliation including pharma-specific HSN classifications
- Handle TDS deductions, payments, and return filing across applicable sections
- Maintain audit-ready compliance documentation across all statutory filings
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and manage payment schedules for manufacturing inputs
- Track receivables and maintain aging reports; follow up on outstanding dues
- Liaise with the Head Office finance team on inter-unit reconciliations
Bank Reconciliation & Ledger Management
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure clean month-end closing
- Maintain and reconcile all ledger accounts — vendor, customer, and expense heads
Financial Reporting
- Assist in monthly MIS, cost and expense reports, and audit schedules
- Support budgeting and forecasting as directed by senior finance
Who We're Looking For
- B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent; CA Inter candidates welcome
- 1–5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, pharma, API, FMCG, or chemical plant environment — this is the core requirement, not a nice-to-have
- Hands-on with Tally ERP9 / TallyPrime for day-to-day entries
- Working knowledge of GST compliance and TDS
- Comfortable in MS Excel — VLOOKUP, basic formulas, data organisation
- Someone who is accurate, consistent, and doesn't need hand-holding on routine compliance
