We are expanding our project delivery capabilities at SAFAA Group of Companies and are looking to onboard an experienced Planning professional for a key role within our Project Management function.
This position will support the execution of a large-scale shopping mall development, with a strong focus on project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and timeline control across all phases of the project lifecycle .
If you bring solid experience in project planning, delay analysis, and stakeholder coordination within large commercial or mixed-use developments, we would be keen to connect.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the Master Project Schedule using Primavera P6 / MS Project, covering design, procurement, construction, and testing & commissioning phases
- Define Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and establish key milestones aligned with leasing strategy and mall opening targets
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and perform delay analysis (critical path, EOT claims)
- Conduct forensic delay analysis where required and support contractual recommendations
- Identify schedule risks, maintain a risk register, and implement mitigation and recovery plans
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including dashboards for senior management
- Develop 2-week and 4-week look-ahead schedules and highlight slippages with corrective actions
- Coordinate with architects, design consultants, MEP teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the master schedule
- Align construction progress with tenant fit-out requirements, anchor tenant timelines, and phased handover strategy
- Ensure readiness for key milestones including façade completion, HVAC systems, and common area finishing in line with mall launch timelines
- Work closely with QS / Commercial teams to integrate cost-loaded schedules and cash flow forecasts
- Ensure effective resource planning (manpower, materials, and equipment) across all project stages
- Evaluate contractor schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project plan
- Support claims management, including evaluation of EOT, prolongation, and delay-related claims
- Participate in client meetings, provide planning insights, and support decision-making through data-driven schedule analysis
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in project planning & scheduling
- Experience in commercial / mall / mixed-use developments
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and advanced Excel
- Experience in delay analysis (EOT, critical path) and reporting
- Knowledge of delay analysis techniques (TIA, Window Analysis)
- Experience in WBS development, milestone planning, and look-ahead scheduling
- Exposure to cost-loaded schedules, cash flow, and resource planning
- Experience in tenant fit-out coordination and phased handover (mall projects)
- Strong stakeholder coordination across consultants, contractors, and client teams
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) is preferred
- Experience in fast-track projects is highly desirable
- Exposure to PMC or large contracting environments preferred
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management
- Master’s degree (preferred)
