Role Description The Planning Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai, responsible for planning and coordinating fire protection and detection projects from concept to completion. Daily activities include preparing project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates; coordinating with design, execution, and procurement teams; and ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met. The role involves reviewing technical drawings and specifications, aligning project plans with safety requirements, and supporting site teams with clear work breakdown structures and installation sequences. The Planning Engineer will monitor project progress, identify risks and delays, update stakeholders with accurate reports, and recommend corrective actions when needed. Collaboration with clients, internal teams, and vendors is essential to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and successful delivery of turnkey solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong project planning and coordination skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, fire protection system layouts, and engineering specifications.
- Knowledge of fire protection and detection systems (e.g., hydrant, sprinkler, foam, gas suppression, fire alarm systems) and relevant standards is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with project management and planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, or similar software) and basic data analysis capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Fire, or related discipline) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work on-site at project locations as required.
- Prior experience in fire protection, construction, or industrial projects is an advantage; motivated freshers with relevant education are also encouraged to apply.
