About the role
Planet Argon provides dependable support and maintenance of existing web applications for multiple clients in a variety of industries. We take care of new feature requests, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
We are currently looking for an experienced Laravel Engineer that can provide 20-30 hours per week of development support for two high-profile clients:
Client 1: a powerhouse global brand in the sports retail industry;
Client 2: an industry leader in self-storage property investments.
Our immediate need is for a 4-month contract engagement. We would be happy to agree to a longer-term contract after this initial engagement should our resourcing needs continue and both parties want to continue working together.
As our Contract Laravel Engineer, you will work through our client's backlog of bugs, feature requests, and technical debt.
Your responsibilities will include:
Update or add functionality to their open-source Laravel CMS
Update or add functionality to backend APIs to handle complex user interactions
Estimate and execute software version upgrades for PHP and Laravel
Implement front-end performance improvements intended to increase the speed and user experience of the site
Implement SEO best practices to improve the site's search ranking
Improve the accessibility of the site
Resolve bugs as they come in from the client
Work with the project manager and site reliability engineer to resolve outages, security issues, and other incidents in a timely manner
