As a GSRP Teacher:
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for four-year-old children. In collaboration with the teaching team, the Lead Teacher plans and implements a high-quality daily curriculum that supports each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. This role fosters strong relationships with families, promotes school readiness, and ensures all practices align with GSRP guidelines and early childhood education best practices.
Expectations:
· Implement high-quality instruction and ongoing assessment using the Pre-Kindergarten Standards of Quality, developmentally appropriate practices, and Creative Curriculum / GOLD
· Create and maintain a supportive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that sets high, yet developmentally appropriate, expectations for student success.
· Establish and maintain open, consistent communication with families, including conducting two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences throughout the school year to support student development and engagement.
· Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement program goals and engaging learning experiences for all students.
· Demonstrate a clear understanding of the early childhood learning continuum beginning at birth and recognize the unique and critical role of preschool within that continuum.
· Keep accurate records as required by state licensing regulations.
· Facilitate and support a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten by fostering school readiness skills and collaborating with families and receiving schools.
This position requires:
Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Early Childhood (ZA/ZS) endorsement required OR a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. Candidates with progress towards this degree may be considered. As a grant requirement, background checks and current CPR/first aid certification are required.
STARTING DATE: Start of the 2026-2027 School Year
SALARY: In accordance with GSRP Agreement
