Placement Officer – Job Description (SLBS Marklance, EdTech)
🔹 Job Summary
A Placement Officer is responsible for connecting students with job opportunities by building industry relationships, organizing placement drives, and preparing students for employment. The role focuses on ensuring high placement rates for training programs.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
1. Industry & Employer Relations
Build and maintain relationships with companies, HRs, and recruiters
Identify job openings, internships, and hiring requirements
Develop partnerships for campus recruitment drives
2. Placement Activities
Organize:
Campus interviews
Job fairs
Recruitment drives
Pre-placement talks
Coordinate between students, recruiters, and management
3. Student Support & Training
Guide students on:
Resume building
Interview preparation
Career planning
Conduct:
Mock interviews
Soft skills training
Workshops & skill sessions
4. Data Management & Reporting
Maintain:
Student placement records
Recruiter database
Placement statistics
Track performance and generate reports for management
5. Coordination with Academics
Work with faculty to align curriculum with industry needs
Match student skills with job requirements
🔹 Required Skills
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Networking and relationship-building ability
Organizational & time management skills
Knowledge of recruitment platforms and MS Office
Basic understanding of job market trends (especially IT/EdTech roles)
🔹 Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HR, Business, IT, or related field)
1–5 years experience in:
Placement / Training & Placement
Recruitment / HR
Academic coordination (preferred)
🔹 Salary (Approx.)
₹20,000 – ₹30,000/month (₹2.5L–₹3.4L/year range)
🔹 Work Environment (EdTech Context)
Target-driven placement goals
Close interaction with students & recruiters
Focus on job-oriented training programs and outcomes
Often involves event coordination and external networking
