Job Description : Business: Piramal Pharma Solutions Department: SCM Location: Kurla Travel: Medium JOB OVERVIEW: The Chief manager, Global Category Management will lead the procurement strategies across multiple categories. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, operational excellence, and cost savings through collaborative stakeholder engagement, market intelligence, and implementing best in class procurement practices across the procurement teams globally. The candidate will play a critical role in shaping procurement strategies that align with our organizational goals, navigating a dynamic global market landscape, and delivering tangible outcomes. KEY STAKEHOLDERS: INTERNAL Piramal Pharma Solutions(PPS) GSCM team, Site Leadership Teams, Central partner functions such as quality, regulatory, finance, GBSS, Mergers and Acquisitions, Human Resources, Legal, etc. KEY STAKEHOLDERS: EXTERNAL Vendors, Consultants REPORTING STRUCTURE: Role reports to the Global procurement head (Direct / Indirect), Pharma Solutions QUALIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). EXPERIENCE: 12 years of work experience in operations / supply chain / business in program management / digital transformation / analytics or operational excellence role KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Category Leadership Develop and execute global procurement strategies for assigned categories to achieve business goals and drive long-term value. Develop & implement business continuity plans: Quality / compliance, AVD etc. Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and efficiency improvements by aligning category strategies with market trends and business objectives. Champion best practices across sites to ensure consistency and effectiveness globally. Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence Trusted advisor to Procurement team, influencing decisions to align procurement activities with broader organizational goals. Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of category strategies. Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including CFTs such as Quality, Finance and Sites to drive procurement transformation agenda Market Intelligence & Risk Management Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the supply base. Track key indices & their impact on procurement strategy, recommend category strategies, conduct spend analytics & ensure effective deployment of spend & consumption levers across global sites. Develop supplier strategies, including identifying and nurturing key partnerships with strategic vendors. Transformation & Continuous Improvement Drive procurement transformation initiatives, focusing on automation, efficiency, and innovation. Acts as the Category Champion for deployment of digital platforms, budgeting and work closely with GSCM Analytics Lead for deployment of transformation initiatives across global procurement organization Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process optimizations. Track performance metrics, Monitor and measure the effectiveness of procurement strategies and provide regular reports on savings and procurement performance to leadership, ensuring continuous improvement. Performance Measurement and Reporting Track & report the achievement of the global procurement goal sheet in line with the GSCM goals. SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong analytical and financial acumen, with a focus on cost savings and value creation. Familiarity with digital procurement tools, usage of AI / ML based models and ERP systems (preferably S4HANA) Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic planning & project managing the execution of initiatives. Experience in implementing change management initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
