Job Description
Perform Piping Stress analysis for various pipelines in facility projects and skids. Ensure compliance of Company Piping / support layout designs with applicable industry codes, standards and regulations and client specifications. Meet or exceed customer expectations in a timely manner within the budget limits
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and understand client specifications during proposal phase. Raise clarifications and deviations not in-line with Company standards.
- Define the stress design basis / philosophy for all load cases, specification, standards and guidelines for stress engineering execution.
- Preparation of stress critical line list. Plan, schedule and progress control for the critical computer stress calculationsand visual reviews.
- Perform static analysis using CAESAR II for the all loadcases. Provide effective stress solution for the critical piping.
- Selection of spring hangers, expansion joints and special supports. Prepare data sheets, technical requisition and technical specification, as well as perform technical bid analysis for them.
- Provide technical solution for the non-critical line by performing visual reviews.
- Vendor drawing review to ensure all the piping loads are within the recommended limit stress check on the IFC isometrics / pipe supports.
- Preparation of stress isometrics and stress reports.
- Lead and assist junior piping stress engineers when developing engineering deliverables.
- Review, comment and approve the outsourced piping stress engineering design deliverables. Ensure most updated vendors’ documentation is being used for developing these deliverables.
- Provide inputs to other disciplines during project execution.
- Participate in engineering meetings and client meeting as required.
- Involve in isometrics checking , review of the critical isometrics and ensure all the supports as per stress recommendations are implemented in model and reflected int he isometrics. And ensure all non-critical isometrics are adequately supported as per pipe support standards.
- Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in its discipline in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Provide support to processing facilities as required by Operations on engineering/technical matters.
- Ability and willingness to travel, as required to full-fill project and business needs.
- Actively support, participate in, and maintain the integrity and on-going function of the company and facility HSSE program; ensuring a safe/healthy work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education Qualification :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience :
- Prior work experience as Stress Engineer for Production Facility Engineering, Onshore, Offshore & FPSO Modules, Management of Construction suppliers, Site Engineering support for Pre commissioning, Commissioning activities
Expertise :
- Facilities Engineering and Construction, with strong Engineering background.
- Familiar with International standards such as ANSI / ASME /API standard for Piping Stress Knowledge
- Has sufficient work experience and knowledge in Piping layout / Design/ Pipe support / Stress analysis, Caesar II
