Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Piping Designer role based in the Pune District. The Piping Designer will be responsible for developing and detailing piping layouts and route plans in coordination with process, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams. Daily activities include preparing and updating 2D and 3D piping models, isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and support drawings using CAD tools. The role involves reviewing P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and vendor drawings, incorporating design standards, and ensuring constructability, safety, and maintenance access. The Piping Designer will participate in design reviews, coordinate with project engineers and other stakeholders, resolve clashes, and support preparation of material take-offs and documentation for project execution.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Piping Design and Piping systems, including routing, supports, and flexibility considerations.
- Experience with Plant Layout, including equipment placement, accessibility, and safety/maintenance requirements.
- Hands-on proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) - AUTOPLANT 3D tools relevant to piping and plant design (2D and/or 3D).
- Exposure to projects in Refineries or related process industries, with understanding of applicable standards and codes.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering documents, and vendor drawings with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams on-site.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, time management, and readiness to work to project schedules and quality requirements.
