Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Piping Designer located in Chennai. The Piping Designer will be responsible for creating and reviewing piping designs, developing plant layouts, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
- Develop and manage intelligent 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D.
- Create and review piping designs and plant layouts based on P&IDs, GADs, and engineering inputs.
- Integrate and work with point cloud data (E57, RCP/RCS, LAS) for brownfield and as-built projects.
- Model equipment, piping, structures, and supports as per project requirements.
- Utilize CAD tools to produce accurate 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Perform clash detection, model validation, and ensure clash-free design.
- Generate deliverables such as isometrics, GA drawings, layouts, and MTOs.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (piping, civil, structural, instrumentation, electrical).
- Participate in 3D model reviews with clients and EPC contractors to ensure project efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in piping design for oil & gas
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in AVEVA E3D (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of Aveva Point Cloud and Hexagon Smart 3D is highly preferred.
- Experience in brownfield projects and as-built modeling preferred.
- Solid knowledge of piping design principles and industry standards.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver accurate work within project timelines.
