Based upon your direct experience and background, a salary offer will likely be presented to you within our starting minimum to midpoint of range ($49,645 - $63,300).

Position Duties

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates the development and delivery of comprehensive professional development programs tailored to the unique needs of the judiciary
  • Makes recommendations and works collaboratively across the judiciary to develop effective training programs; monitors applicable laws and regulations and makes training recommendations to ensure compliance
  • Monitors and measures training effectiveness and implements changes and updates as needed
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures to monitor effectiveness of training programs
  • Evaluates complex case problems and determines appropriate training plans with a high degree of independence
  • Confers with department personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems; provides assistance on training issues
  • Identifies, develops, and delivers innovative and creative training materials and methodologies, and supporting documentation for instructor-led, online, and blended learning programs
  • Manages and communicates training requirements to judicial employees; submits COJET reports related to annual requirements to AOC annually and as requested; maintains complete and accurate training records in compliance with applicable retention schedules
  • Designs and facilitates training modules through one on one and/or group settings
  • Prepares and submits various reports, records and correspondence as required
  • Coordinate/arrange training logistics (i.e., trainers, schedule, rooms) and training conferences
  • Assists in the training of new court employees; functions as a technical or subject-matter specialist in assisting new employees in interpreting applicable regulations
  • Generates training materials and lesson plans in response to specific requests for training and to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations
  • Develops and implements methods to improve operational effectiveness
  • May review the work of other personnel for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advice and assistance as needed
  • Performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document learning and development programs.
  • Assists the LJ Programs Administrator in evaluations of operations and procedure by recommending improvements and modifications
  • Assists with timely implementation of organizational changes, court policy and procedure
  • Assists in the implementation of and is designated as the Lead Trainer for any new court automation system (AJACS) and other aspects of Court technology as they relate to and affect Court operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications & Special Requirements:

  • Associates in Business Administration, adult education, training or related  field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in employee training and development, program development or adult education, preferably in a court or government environment.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities is qualifying.
Special Requirements:  
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License at time of hire.
  • Will be required to travel throughout Pinal County.

Other Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Principles of basic research techniques, as well as knowledge of procedures, practices and operation of the court system, procedures, rules and applicable Arizona statutes.
  • Principles and theories of instruction. Applying adult learning theory in the development and facilitation of training programs
  • Operating and maintaining supplemental teaching aids, such as audio visual materials.
  • Records management operations
  • Guidelines, regulations, and statutes affecting the department
  • Computer skills that include the development and implementation of Power Point presentations, Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Time management and managing multiple projects and daily responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills, including decisiveness, good judgment, fairness, integrity and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of work systems, programs and strategies.
  • AJACS court system
 Ability to:             
  • Maintain confidentiality in court related matters.
  • Compose course and lesson plans, including course objectives, instructional strategies, examinations, and course syllabi.
  • Facilitate effective training.
  • Conduct effective needs assessments and develop successful, professional training programs based upon information obtained as well as ability to analyze, forecast and report on future needs, training outcomes, trends, cost effectiveness and similar performance metrics.
  • Define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Plan and organize.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including public speaking and presenting to groups.
  • Work under pressure in a highly dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and drive a vehicle.  Manual dexterity to reach and grasp; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see and read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone.  May be required to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky items, equipment, supplies and/or other materials weighing up to 25 pounds.  May have to drive throughout the County.
