JOB SUMMARY:
This position receives general direction from the Manager of the Printing Department. Assists in performing all activities of printing services. Performs duties related to the creation, duplication, cutting, assembly, and installation of high-quality printed materials including forms, reports, brochures, signs, or other graphic materials. Operates duplication machines and peripheral equipment; performs preventive and minor equipment adjustments; and performs all other related duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in production of brochures, posters, signs, models, charts, graphs, bulletins, transparencies, and other graphic materials.
2. Assists in operating printing and cutting equipment.
3. Assists with sign assembly.
4. Transports and installs signs, clings, or other graphic materials throughout PMC facilities.
5. Documents installation appropriately in sign management system.
6. Collaborates with facilities staff for any modifications, repairs, or requests related to sign installation.
7. Assists in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies for equipment, operation, and necessary stock; assists in maintaining inventory and production records.
8. Assists in maintenance of all printing equipment.
9. Adheres to copyright and PMC format standards.
10. Adheres to dress code.
11. Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees.
12. Meets all departmental specific competencies.
13. Adheres to medical center policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.
14. Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the medical center code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures.
15. Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Basic computer and mobile device skills for tracking work orders and inventory. Ability to safely lift, carry, and install signage and materials. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to read work orders, diagrams, and basic installation instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Familiarity with print finishing tasks such as trimming, mounting, laminating, and packaging.
Ability to stand for long periods of time; develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees of the department, other hospital departments, and outside agencies; keep accurate and organized records. Will receive training to operate all components of digital equipment, perform maintenance and minor repairs on all duplicating equipment; operate and maintain typical Print Shop non-duplicating equipment such as drills, punches, joggers, and automatic paper cutters.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
A high school graduate or equivalent is required. Prior print shop, sign shop, production environment, or signage installation experience is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Adobe Design Suites (photo shop) preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a well lighted business office environment the majority of the time.
There is a potential for being at risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals when working. Information regarding hazards and protective measures along with training on handling and storage of hazardous materials will be provided prior to initial assignment to work with hazardous chemicals, whenever the hazard changes, and on an annual basis.
