We are developing a portfolio of botanical and biological bioactives for cosmetic and fragrance-adjacent applications, designed for global, regulated markets.
This role focuses on translating complex extracts and bioactive fractions into stable, formulation-compatible, and performance-driven ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop formulation-ready bioactive systems from botanical extracts and biological fractions
• Evaluate solubility, stability, and compatibility of bioactives across different formulation environments, including oils, emulsions, and gels
• Design and optimise carrier systems, dispersions, and delivery formats to enhance functional performance
• Work closely with extraction and sourcing teams to ensure materials are aligned with intended application and performance requirements
• Define critical parameters for ingredient performance, including stability, appearance, and behaviour within formulation systems
• Conduct small-scale application trials to validate ingredient usability and integration into cosmetic bases
• Support the development of fragrance-adjacent botanical systems with stable, refined, and consistent sensory profiles
Candidate Profile
• Strong background in organic chemistry, cosmetic science, or a related discipline
• Proven experience working with bioactives, biopolymers, or functional ingredients at ingredient level, not only finished products
• Hands-on experience with oils, emulsions, and compatibility of actives within formulation systems
• Solid understanding of natural extracts, including solubility challenges, variability, and stability constraints
• Ability to translate complex biological materials into consistent, usable formulation inputs
• Practical, experimental mindset with strong problem-solving capability
This is a hands-on role requiring direct experience working with real materials and formulation systems.
Candidates with only academic research experience, or without exposure to ingredient or application development, will not be considered.
