This is a full-time, on-site Physiotherapist role based in Bengaluru. The Physiotherapist will provide assessment and therapy services for children and adults with diverse disabilities, primarily those in CCIs, adoption agencies, community settings, and PACT India’s rehabilitation and respite care centers. Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed physical and functional assessments, developing individualized physiotherapy treatment plans, and delivering goal-oriented interventions to improve mobility, strength, posture, balance, and functional independence.
The role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, tracking progress, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including special educators, occupational therapists, caregivers, social workers, and medical professionals. The Physiotherapist will also guide caregivers and institution staff on home programs, positioning, handling, safe transfers, and use of assistive devices, while supporting outreach, community-based rehabilitation activities, training programs, and awareness sessions as needed.
The role requires regular travel within Bengaluru and periodic travel across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu for field visits, institutional support, assessments, training programs, and coordination activities. Candidates should be comfortable with community-based work, field travel, and working in diverse institutional and rural/urban settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (BPT/MPT) from a recognized institution; valid registration with the relevant state council or professional body.
- Clinical experience in pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, or disability-focused physiotherapy, preferably with children with special needs in institutional or community settings.
- Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based intervention for conditions such as cerebral palsy, developmental delay, neuromuscular, genetic, and orthopedic conditions.
- Ability to train and mentor caregivers and staff in home exercise programs, positioning, handling techniques, and safe use of mobility aids and adaptive equipment.
- Effective communication skills in English and local/regional languages (Kannada, Telugu, or Tamil preferred), with the ability to work sensitively with children, families, caregivers, and diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with maintaining clear clinical records, reporting outcomes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across clinics, CCIs, adoption agencies, and partner organizations.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly for institutional visits, outreach programs, camps, trainings, and community-based rehabilitation activities.
- High level of empathy, patience, professionalism, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
