We’re Hiring: Physical Design Functional Lead – Hyderabad (Global Role)
At Aion Silicon, we’re entering an exciting phase of growth—and we’re looking for a Physical Design Functional Lead to help shape the future of our engineering organisation.
This is a highly visible, strategic leadership role, leading our Hyderabad Design Centre, with global responsibility across our Physical Design function.
Purpose of role:
To lead the strategic and operational direction of the engineering function, ensuring excellence in execution, innovation, and talent development. This role supports business growth through technical leadership, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
· Drive engineering estimation and support pre-sales activities in collaboration with business development.
· Partner with Sales to advocate for team capabilities and win new business.
· Making informed tactical decisions grounded in engineering expertise.
· Lead global engineering budget planning, resource allocation, and financial stewardship.
· Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.
· Oversee talent acquisition, development, and performance management across engineering teams.
· Proactively stay ahead of emerging engineering and technology trends.
· Manage resource loading, team capacity, and functional budget.
· Drive performance management processes across engineering teams.
· Align individual aspirations with organizational goals.
· Continuously research industry developments and innovations.
· Integrate cutting-edge best practices into engineering processes.
· Shape and implement workforce planning strategies to optimize team capacity and utilization.
· Drive innovation and maintain competitiveness within the industry.
· Possible engineering site management depending on location.
Qualifications:
A relevant Engineering degree.

Technical skills
Experience and deep understanding of the Physical Design flow including Synthesis, Floor planning, Placement, CTS, Routing, STA, Physical Verification, IR drop, etc.
Tape out experience on multiple technologies 5nm and below,7nm,12nm,28nm
Able to contribute to the development of technical sales documents such as a Statement of Work
Experience of presenting “technical white papers."
Expert understanding and implementation of process.
