About the job
Techrupt Innovations is looking for a versatile, hands on developer who can own backend work across multiple products simultaneously. You won't be handed a narrow lane; you'll be expected to own systems end to end and bring strong independent judgment to architecture, debugging, and delivery.
Core Technical Skills
→ WordPress & PHP Custom theme & plugin development, WP hooks & filters, WordPress REST API, WooCommerce, Multisite, PHP 8.x OOP, Composer
→ Node.js & Backend Express.js, REST API design, WebSockets, JWT/OAuth authentication, Database integrations, Cron & Queue management
→ Python & Scripting Automation scripts, Data pipelines, FastAPI/Flask, Web scraping, AI/ML integrations, Scheduling & cron jobs
→ Databases & Infrastructure MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Linux/SSH, NGINX/Apache, Docker basics
Key responsibilities
- Build Node.js backend handling feature builds, API design, and system maintenance.
- Write clean, production grade PHP code for WordPress: custom plugins, theme development, WP REST API extensions, and database driven features.
- Build and maintain Node.js backend services, integrations, and internal APIs across Techrupt's product portfolio.
- Use Python for automation, internal tooling, data scripts, and AI-adjacent integrations where applicable.
- Debug complex cross-stack issues (WP → Node → DB) with speed and precision you think in systems, not just files.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team; communicate blockers clearly and work with minimal hand holding.
- Maintain clean code, sensible documentation, and structured deployments no cowboy pushes to production.
What we're looking for
3+ years of real world experience across the stack, not tutorial experience, not AI-generated output. You should be the kind of developer who has owned a feature from design to deployment. We value depth over polish: someone who truly understands how WordPress hooks and PHP execution flow, how Node's event loop works, and what Python is actually good at, not just someone who has used all three.
