Role Overview
The Photographer will work as a part of communications and programmes team to capture high-quality visual stories that document organisation’s social action and impact amplifying its presence across digital and print platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Storytelling & Brand Identity:
· Lead and execute high-quality photoshoots and video shoots across field locations, campaigns, events, and organisational initiatives that authentically capture the impact of the organisation's work.
· Develop compelling visual narratives that reflect the voices and experiences of communities while ensuring consistency with the organisation's established brand identity, visual guidelines, and communication objectives.
· Plan shoots to capture photos and videos, identify creative concepts, and adapt photographic styles to suit different audiences and platforms.
Post-Production:
· Manage the complete post-production process for all visual content, ensuring professional-quality outputs that are ready for print, digital, and social media platforms.
· Perform advanced image/video editing, retouching, colour correction, colour grading, cropping, and optimisation while maintaining authenticity and ethical representation.
· Prepare media assets in multiple formats and resolutions to meet diverse publishing requirements and ensure timely delivery of final content.
Collaboration:
· Work closely with the Communications and Programmes teams to identify impactful stories from field projects and organisational initiatives.
· Participate in field visits to document programme activities, community stories, and organisational milestones through photography/videography and multimedia.
· Collaborate during campaign planning to translate communication strategies into engaging visual content that supports advocacy, reporting, and public engagement.
Asset Management:
· Develop and maintain a well-structured digital asset management system for photographs, videos, and other multimedia resources.
· Organise, categorise, tag, and archive visual assets to ensure efficient retrieval and long-term preservation.
· Regularly back up content, maintain version control, and ensure that assets are accessible to relevant teams while adhering to organisational policies on data security, copyright, and consent.
Multi-Media Support:
· Provide production support for multimedia projects by assisting with basic videography, lighting setup, audio equipment, styling, and on-set coordination.
· Shoot and support the creation of short-form videos, interviews, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes content for digital campaigns and organisational communications.
· Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders when required, ensuring smooth production workflows and maintaining high visual and technical standards throughout the production process.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
· Ensure all visual content meets the organisation's quality standards and aligns with brand voice.
· Stay updated with emerging trends in photography, videography, editing software, and digital storytelling techniques to continuously improve creative output and recommend innovative approaches for visual communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile
· Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
· 2–5 years of professional experience in photography and visual production, ideally within a non-profit organisation or social enterprise.
· Advanced skills in DSLR filming/photography.
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple project timelines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
· Willingness to travel intensively.
