Role Description The Phlebotomist is a full-time, on-site role based at ES Healthcare Centre in Ahmedabad. The role involves performing safe and accurate blood collection from patients of different age groups using appropriate techniques and equipment. Daily responsibilities include verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, preparing collection sites, labeling specimens, and ensuring proper storage and transport to the laboratory. The Phlebotomist will collaborate with medical and laboratory staff, maintain clean and organized work areas, follow infection control and safety protocols, and assist with basic patient support as needed. The role also includes documenting procedures in line with medical records standards and providing a calm, respectful experience for patients.
Qualifications
- Strong blood collection skills, including venipuncture and related techniques.
- Competence in laboratory skills, including specimen handling, labeling, and basic processing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and foundational understanding of medicine relevant to phlebotomy.
- Experience or training in medical assisting, including patient preparation and support.
- Attention to detail, adherence to safety and infection control protocols, and accurate record-keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients and healthcare teams.
- Formal certification or diploma in phlebotomy or a related healthcare field, as per local regulations.
- Previous experience in a clinical, hospital, or diagnostic lab setting is preferred.
