Role Description The PHE Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing public health engineering systems, including water supply, drainage, sewage, and fire protection-associated piping for various building projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing drawings and technical specifications, coordinating with architects and other engineering disciplines, conducting site inspections, monitoring installation work for compliance with design and codes, and supporting testing and commissioning activities. The role involves preparing material take-offs, assisting in vendor evaluation, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and providing technical support to project teams and clients. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, requiring regular interaction with site personnel and project stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of public health engineering design, including water supply, drainage, sewage, and related piping systems.
- Ability to interpret and prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using CAD or similar design tools.
- Understanding of relevant codes and standards for PHE, fire protection, and building services, with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Experience in site supervision, quality checks, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline; prior experience in PHE or MEP projects is an advantage.
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic project documentation; familiarity with hydraulic calculations and quantity estimation is beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site in Kochi and travel to project locations as required.
