Role Description PhD Research Scholars at Ramaiah Institute of Technology engage in full-time, on-site research activities based at the Bengaluru campus. Scholars are expected to design and execute original research projects under the guidance of faculty supervisors, including literature review, experimental or theoretical work, data collection, and analysis. Day-to-day responsibilities include working in laboratories or research environments, attending research group meetings, documenting progress, and preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations. Scholars contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, support teaching or mentoring activities when required, and participate in seminars, workshops, and academic events organized by the institute. The role also involves complying with institutional and regulatory research ethics, maintaining accurate records, and actively collaborating with peers and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Strong research aptitude, including ability to conduct literature reviews, formulate research problems, and apply appropriate methodologies.
- Solid academic foundation with a relevant master’s degree (e.g., M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, or equivalent) from a recognized institution; an exceptional bachelor’s degree profile may be considered in some disciplines as per institute norms.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication for drafting proposals, research papers, and thesis documents, and for presenting work to academic audiences.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis software, or domain-specific research tools and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and meet research milestones and academic deadlines.
- Interest or prior experience in teaching assistance, mentoring junior students, or contributing to academic activities is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ethical conduct in research, attention to detail, and commitment to long-term scholarly engagement.
- Any prior publications, conference presentations, or industry/research project experience will be considered beneficial.
