Role Description The PhD in Medical Laboratory Sciences is a full-time, on-site role based at Chandigarh University in Chandigarh. Doctoral candidates will conduct independent and supervised research in medical laboratory sciences, including designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals. Day-to-day responsibilities include working in laboratory settings, maintaining accurate records, collaborating with faculty and research teams, and participating in academic activities such as seminars, conferences, and departmental meetings. Candidates will also contribute to teaching or mentoring responsibilities as assigned, support ongoing projects in related medical and clinical laboratory fields, and adhere to institutional and ethical guidelines for research.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Strong foundation in laboratory techniques, quality control, and biosafety procedures relevant to medical and clinical research.
- Demonstrated research aptitude, including experience in study design, data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
- Ability to use relevant laboratory equipment, software tools, and digital resources for literature review, data management, and reporting.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly to academic and professional audiences.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams, with good time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to ethical research practices, continuous learning, and contributing to the advancement of medical laboratory sciences.
- Previous publications, conference presentations, or research experience in medical or clinical laboratory settings are an advantage.
