About the Position
The Department of Electrical Engineering invites applications for Ph.D. positions in the broad area of Organic and Flexible Electronics for Monsoon 2026 admissions. The selected candidate will work on advanced research topics related to organic semiconductors, flexible electronic devices, charge transport, organic/perovskite solar cells, bioelectronics, wearable sensors, and related emerging device technologies.
This position is suitable for motivated candidates interested in experimental research, device fabrication, characterization, modeling, and interdisciplinary work at the interface of electronics, materials science, and applied physics.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Ph.D. candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct advanced research in organic and flexible electronics, organic semiconductors, solar cells, sensors, and related electronic devices.
- Fabricate, characterize, and analyze organic/flexible electronic device prototypes.
- Perform experiments using laboratory facilities for electrical, optical, materials, and device characterization.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results using appropriate models and simulation tools.
- Contribute to high-quality research publications, conference presentations, and technical reports.
- Work collaboratively with faculty members, research scholars, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assist in mentoring undergraduate and master’s students involved in related research projects.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should have a strong academic background and interest in one or more of the following areas:
Organic electronics, flexible electronics, semiconductor devices, optoelectronics, sensors, solar cells, or electronic materials.
- Charge transport in organic semiconductors and device physics.
- Device fabrication and characterization techniques.
- Materials science related to organic, hybrid, or semiconducting materials.
- Data analysis, simulation, and modeling of electronic/material/device systems.
- Academic writing, scientific communication, and presentation of research findings.
- Ability to work independently as well as in interdisciplinary research teams.
Minimum Eligibility
Candidates with the following qualifications may apply:
- M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, or a relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA.
- M.Sc. in Physics with specialization in Electronics, Solid State Devices, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related areas with minimum 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
- M.Sc. Electronics or related disciplinewith minimum 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
- B.Tech./B.E. in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, or a relevant discipline with minimum 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA.
Fellowship and Financial Support
- Full-time residential Ph.D. students are eligible for a doctoral fellowship, subject to satisfactory academic performance and university regulations:
- ₹45,000 per month for the first two years.
- ₹50,000 per month for the next three years.
- Tuition fee waiver of ₹60,000.
Research grant of ₹1,50,000 during the five-year Ph.D. program for presenting work at Scopus-indexed conferences, including domestic and international conferences.
Selection Process
The selection process will include a written test followed by an interview. Candidates with valid CSIR-JRF/UGC-NET/GATE certificates, or M.Tech./M.E./M.S. Research candidates admitted through GATE, may be exempted from the written test as per departmental norms.
