Role Description
This is an internship role for a PhD Candidate in Chemistry, located on-site at the National Institute of Technology, Silchar. The candidate will engage in conducting advanced research in the field of chemistry, including experimentation, data analysis, and synthesis of findings. Day-to-day tasks involve designing research methodologies, preparing progress reports, collaborating with peers and faculty, and publishing research findings in high-impact journals. The candidate will also assist in laboratory operations and mentor undergraduate and master’s students as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in Chemistry, including knowledge in organic, inorganic, physical, or analytical chemistry
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and handling scientific equipment
- Experience with data analysis, interpretation, and presentation using tools such as MATLAB, Origin, or similar software
- Proven research aptitude, including familiarity with scientific literature reviews and research paper writing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills paired with collaborative teamwork abilities
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- A Master's degree in Chemistry or related fields is required; prior research experience is a plus
