Role Description The Pharmacist at Seven Oaks Pet Hospital – India is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. The Pharmacist will manage the veterinary pharmacy, including dispensing medications as per veterinary prescriptions, ensuring accurate dosing, and maintaining proper labeling and storage standards. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory, checking expiry dates, ordering supplies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and hospital policies. The role also involves counseling pet owners on medication usage and safety, coordinating with veterinarians and nursing staff to support treatment plans, and maintaining detailed records of dispensed medications. The Pharmacist will contribute to quality assurance activities, help implement pharmacy best practices, and support continuous improvement in medication management within the hospital.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, preferably with exposure to veterinary or animal health medications.
- Ability to dispense medications accurately, manage inventory, and maintain proper storage and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to explain dosages, administration instructions, and safety information to pet owners and clinical staff.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adherence to regulatory and hospital standards.
- Comfort working in a 24/7 hospital environment, including flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy or hospital information systems and basic computer applications.
- Diploma or degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm or B.Pharm); registration with the appropriate pharmacy council as per Indian regulations.
- Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy or veterinary setting is an advantage.
