Role Description The Pharma Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in India, responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence for the company’s pharmaceutical portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, distributors, and institutional clients, and negotiating contracts and commercial terms. The role involves analyzing market trends, monitoring competitor activities, and contributing to pricing and product positioning strategies. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, regulatory, and production to align business development initiatives with operational capabilities. Regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline status, and strategic plans to senior leadership is expected.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in pharma sales or business development, including client acquisition, account management, and relationship building.
- Strong skills in market analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning for pharmaceutical products and therapeutic segments.
- Proficiency in negotiation, communication, and presentation, with the ability to influence stakeholders and close commercial deals.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards relevant to the Indian market.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams across marketing, production, supply chain, and regulatory affairs to execute growth initiatives.
- Comfort with using CRM tools, sales reporting systems, and basic data analysis software to manage pipelines and track performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work on-site, travel for client meetings as needed, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
