Role Description The PGT Economics role is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. The educator will plan and deliver engaging Economics lessons for senior secondary students, aligned with the prescribed curriculum and academic standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching concepts in micro and macroeconomics, assessing student progress through tests and assignments, and providing constructive feedback. The role involves maintaining classroom discipline, using a variety of teaching aids and methods to support different learning styles, and participating in academic planning, parent meetings, and school events. The educator is expected to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to curriculum enrichment, and support students in exam preparation and career guidance related to Economics and commerce streams.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in Economics, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, and current economic issues.
- Effective classroom teaching skills, including lesson planning, use of teaching aids, and student engagement techniques.
- Assessment and evaluation abilities, including designing tests, assignments, and fair grading practices.
- Excellent communication, explanation, and interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to use basic educational technology tools for teaching, presentation, and record-keeping.
- Master’s degree in Economics and a recognized teaching qualification (such as B.Ed. or equivalent) preferred.
- Prior experience teaching Economics at senior secondary level is highly desirable.
- Commitment to student-centered learning, ethical conduct, and continuous professional development.
