POSITION SUMMARY
The Demand Planner supports the creation and maintenance of reliable demand forecasts for assigned products and markets. Working within established S&OP/IBP routines, this role integrates historical trends, customer replenishment patterns, promotional activity, and ecommerce signals to produce a feasible demand plan and to surface key exceptions, risks, and opportunities.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain baseline forecasts and incorporate demand inputs (promotions, features/display, ecommerce events, customer programs, and assortment changes) for the assigned scope.
  • Review and act on forecast exceptions using system alerts and standard dashboards; escalate material variances with a clear point of view.
  • Collect, validate, and structure demand inputs from Sales/Account teams, distributors, and ecommerce partners; ensure timely submission to the S&OP/IBP calendar.
  • Analyze forecast error drivers (e.g., in-stock, price, promo execution, seasonality, order patterns) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support collaboration with Supply Planning by communicating short-term demand changes, launch timing updates, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain master data/planning parameters that impact forecasting (units of measure, hierarchies, calendars, segmentation attributes) per standard work.
  • Contribute to monthly demand review content (assumptions, changes vs. prior month, and top movers).

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 Education & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, sales operations, or forecasting within CPG or retail.
  • Working knowledge of forecast concepts (seasonality, trend, promo lift) and multi-channel demand drivers.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to summarize insights for non-technical partners.
  • Experience with ERP/planning tools and strong Excel skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with POS/syndicated data (e.g., NielsenIQ/IRI/Circana) and/or distributor depletion data.
  • Exposure to ecommerce forecasting inputs (digital media calendar, on-site promotions, marketplace dynamics).
  • Power BI/Tableau experience.

Success Measures (Examples):

  • Accurate, timely forecast updates and exception management.
  • Improved data quality and adherence to S&OP/IBP calendar milestones.
  • Clear identification of issues and proactive escalation of demand risks/opportunities.
