Person County Government is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as Part-Time Athletic Event Administrative Support within the Recreation, Arts & Parks Department. This position supports the Athletics Division by providing essential administrative, programmatic, and onsite event support to ensure high-quality recreational experiences for the community.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 1000 hours per calendar year.
Position Duties
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Secure information via telephone and personal contact; respond to inquiries from coaches, parents, and the general public.
- Verify documentation.
- Track volunteer coach sign-ups and maintain communication with coaches throughout athletic seasons.
- Compile and produce statistical reports and league-wide communications.
- Research topics and best practices by contacting partner counties as needed.
- Screen and route communication; maintain program files, activity logs, and related documentation.
- Operate a computer to create correspondence, memoranda, reports, marketing, and program materials.
- Order and maintain athletic program supplies and equipment.
- Organize, update, and maintain program binders, equipment logs, and inventory.
- Provide event support as needed by assisting with facility readiness, basic program monitoring, completing required incident or injury documentation,, and reporting program quality, trends, and issues from an administrative standpoint.
- Observe athletic programs in progress, communicate with participants and stakeholders, and provide feedback or reports to the program supervisor as needed.
Additional Duties- Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED.
- Minimum six months experience in administrative, recreation, or customer service work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be available to work office hours (8:30–5:00) as well as evening and weekend onsite shifts as scheduled.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Canva, with the ability to create, edit, and manage professional documents and visual content.
