Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Viper Elementary. This full-time position involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, providing individualized instruction, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying disabilities in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP documentation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education practices.
- Advocate for students’ needs and rights within the school and community.
- Create a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and inclusivity among all students.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, parents, and support staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
