Role Description The Performance Architect is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for designing and reviewing system architectures with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed and cloud-native environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed performance analysis, defining performance baselines and KPIs, and collaborating with software development and SRE teams to embed performance considerations into design and implementation. The Performance Architect will lead performance engineering initiatives, guide performance testing strategies, and interpret results to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities. The role also involves working closely with platform, DevOps, and observability teams to ensure end-to-end performance visibility, and contributing to performance standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks across client engagements.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Performance Analysis and Performance Engineering, including end-to-end profiling, benchmarking, capacity planning, and scalability design.
- Solid understanding of Computer Architecture concepts such as CPU and memory hierarchies, cache behavior, I/O subsystems, and their impact on system performance.
- Hands-on Software Development experience in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, C/C++), with the ability to read, critique, and optimize application code.
- Experience with Performance Testing, including load, stress, soak, and spike testing using modern performance testing tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency with distributed systems concepts, microservices architectures, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) from a performance and reliability perspective.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, APM suites) and using telemetry data to drive performance improvements.
- Ability to translate business SLAs and SLOs into technical performance objectives
