Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Android Developer who can architect, build, and own key features on Pep's Android app. You will work closely with the founders, product/design teams to deliver an amazing user experience that scales.
You’ll be among the early core tech team members, owning and leading crucial modules with full freedom and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and ship high-quality Android applications at scale.
Lead the design and development of new features end-to-end.
Optimize app performance, memory management, and network usage.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers.
Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
Set and maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.
Mentor junior developers and guide best practices in Android development.
Skills & Experience:
Language: Kotlin (primary), Java (legacy support)
Architecture: MVVM, Clean Architecture, Hilt (DI)
UI: Jetpack Compose & XML
Networking: Retrofit, OkHttp, WebSockets, Coroutines/Flow
Media: ExoPlayer, WebRTC/RTMP for live streaming
File Handling: Upload/download with progress, SAF, FileProvider, PDF/DOCX/XLSX & image support, compression
Payments: UPI, Google Pay, Razorpay integration, secure handling (HTTPS, Proguard, Play Integrity API)
Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), deep linking, rich notifications
UX/Behavior: Jetpack Navigation, WorkManager, Lifecycle-aware components
Monitoring: Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics
