PeopleSoft Database Administrator (DBA) - 4+ Years of Experience
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced PeopleSoft Database Administrator (DBA) with 5+ years of hands-on experience to manage, maintain, and optimize PeopleSoft databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the PeopleSoft environment, focusing on database performance, availability, security, and backups. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including PeopleSoft administrators, application developers, and infrastructure teams, to support the PeopleSoft system lifecycle and improve system performance.
Roles & Responsibilities:Administer and maintain PeopleSoft databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), including installation, configuration, patching, and ensuring high availability.
- Performance Optimization:
Monitor and tune database performance, optimize SQL queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure system efficiency and scalability.
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
Plan and implement database upgrades, patches, and security fixes in alignment with release cycles.
Enforce database security controls, manage user access, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Work with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve issues, support migrations, and implement new environments.
- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and provide regular reports on database health, performance, and capacity.
Implement and manage high-availability solutions, ensuring effective disaster recovery planning and testing.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a PeopleSoft DBA (Oracle preferred).
- Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture and database management (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL).
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and handling large-scale databases.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (e.g., RMAN, Data Guard).
- Good understanding of database security and access controls.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft application/web servers and system integrations.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools (Oracle Enterprise Manager, Quest, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills – PeopleSoft DBA- PeopleSoft/Oracle DBA certifications (preferred).
- Experience managing large-scale PeopleSoft environments and high-volume transactions.
- Knowledge of cloud and virtualized database environments.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting.
- Experience with database automation for backups and routine maintenance.
