Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Engineer to design, develop, and support robust data integration solutions that enable the seamless movement of financial and operational data across enterprise systems. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, implementing transformation and validation logic, ensuring data quality, and delivering trusted data to analytics platforms and external partners. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data reconciliation, production support, and audit-ready documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and developing data integration, ETL/ELT, batch processing, and scheduled data delivery solutions.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience working with enterprise databases, file-based integrations, and analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze source systems and create effective source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
- Experience implementing data quality controls, reconciliation processes, exception handling, and root-cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience supporting System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production deployments, and defect resolution activities.
- Ability to create and maintain interface specifications, mapping documents, transformation logic documentation, and operational procedures.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Business Analysts, Product Owners, data owners, vendors, Scrum Masters, and engineering teams.
- Experience working within Agile development environments and delivery methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with financial services data, including brokerage, wealth management, banking, cash management, or deposit systems.
- Knowledge of financial data validation, reconciliation, and balancing processes.
- Understanding of data governance, regulatory compliance, audit requirements, and security controls related to financial data.
- Experience monitoring production data processes and supporting business-critical, time-sensitive data feeds.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain data integration solutions that extract, transform, and deliver financial and operational data from enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to define data mappings, transformation rules, validation requirements, and business logic.
- Develop automated processes for data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and file generation.
- Build and support reliable batch processing frameworks and recurring data pipelines.
- Implement data quality controls, reconciliation checks, exception management processes, and control-total validations.Partner with data owners, business stakeholders, and external vendors to validate source data, file specifications, mapping requirements, and integration outputs.
- Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-deployment validation activities while resolving integration-related defects.
- Investigate data discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Optimize integration processes to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Monitor production jobs and data feeds, proactively identify issues, and ensure timely and accurate data delivery.Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience within financial services organizations is highly desirable, particularly in environments involving regulated financial data, enterprise integrations, and audit-compliant data processing.
